On December 31st, 2024, Dayuan Elementary School held an event titled "Hello, World Friend!"

Professor Chang Chih-Hui from Dayeh University and graduate students from five countries visited the school. The visiting students were from Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Eswatini, and Mongolia.

During the event, the graduate students introduced their home countries' cultures and populations to the elementary school students.

Students from Dayuan Elementary School participated in learning traditional dances taught by the visitors from Eswatini and Mongolia.

Dayuan Elementary School students also prepared seed charms. These handmade charms, which represent the school, were given as gifts to the visiting students from different countries.

This event marked the final day of 2024 at Dayuan Elementary School.

The school expressed a hope for future interactions with more people from various parts of the world.

Something very special happens every month at Dayuan Elementary School! Some lucky students get to be "little guests" in the Principal's Office. It's a really cool reward for students who do amazing things!

So, who gets to be a special guest?

First, there are the "Character Stars" from each class! These are students who show great character traits, like being kind, honest, responsible, and helpful to their friends and teachers. They are great role models for everyone in their class, and they earn this special honor.

Second, we have the students who get the highest scores in the "Pagamo Learning Platform" game! This means they are super focused on their studies and really good at understanding what they learn. Playing this game helps students learn new things and also shows how much they know.

These amazing "Character Stars" and top "Pagamo" players get other prizes too, but the most exciting part is getting to visit the Principal's Office! It's a rare chance to talk with the Principal up close. They can share what they've been doing at school, tell stories, and even ask the Principal questions.

Imagine getting to sit in the Principal's big chair, or maybe even getting a special treat! It's a wonderful way to recognize students who work hard and have good hearts.

So, if you want to be a "little guest" in the Principal's Office too, remember to do your best in school, study hard, and always show your good character! We look forward to seeing you there next time!

Something very important and exciting happened at Dayuan Elementary School on October 11th! Our school was lucky enough to host a special play called the "Campus Anti-Drug Awareness Tour Performance."

The Changhua County government's Education Department wants all students to know about the dangers of drugs. So, they asked a special group called the "Ping Peng Tsao Children's Theater" to visit schools and teach kids about saying "NO" to drugs.

This year, our school was super lucky to have the theater group come right to us! They performed a special anti-drug version of the famous story, "Spirited Away."

The play was so clever! The theater group used the story of "Spirited Away" to teach us about how bad drugs are. They also added fun music, which made the show lively and important at the same time.

Every student at our school loved the play! We were all watching closely and laughing a lot. It was clear everyone was really into the show.

At the end, there was a quiz with prizes! All the students tried hard to answer the questions. We also clapped for the theater group again and again because they were so good!

We hope to invite the theater group back next year. That way, we can all enjoy another wonderful play and learn even more about staying safe from drugs.

Date: November 5, 2024 

On November 5th, 2024, something really fun happened for the older students at Dayuan Elementary School! They went on a special trip called "Let's Go Together, It's Fun!" This trip was all about experiencing the culture of Changhua County.

It was a whole day packed with exciting activities!

First, the students got to experience glove puppetry. This is a very old and special kind of puppet show!

Next, they visited the Changhua County Library. It's always great to see so many books!

Then, they went to the Changhua Living Arts Center. There, they got to make their own special blueprint artwork using a cool technique called "cyanotype."

Finally, their day ended at the Bureau of Cultural Heritage, where they made bamboo woven postcards!

It was a full day of adventures and learning! The students at Dayuan Elementary School had a super rich and fun outdoor cultural experience. They learned so many new things about the history and arts of Changhua!

Date: October 22, 2024 

On October 22nd, something special happened at Dayuan Elementary School! We had a "Life Education" class called "Seeing Ourselves and Us." This class was all about helping us understand who we are and what makes us unique!

Do you know what makes you special? What are your unique qualities and things you are good at? To help us find out, we invited a wonderful guest: Psychologist Chang Ya-Chun from Floki Counseling Center. She led our lesson called "Getting to Know Ourselves and Others!"

In the first part of the class, we played a super fun tabletop game! This game helped us learn about six different important abilities that people have. It was a great way to discover new things about ourselves and our friends.

In the second part, we started by reading a lovely picture book called "You Are Special." This book taught us that everyone is unique and wonderful just the way they are. After reading, we got to make our very own "My Trait Wind Chimes!" We thought about all our special qualities and wrote them down or drew pictures to put on our chimes.

It was a special day to really think about ourselves and what makes each of us amazing. We hope all the kids used this time to get to know themselves even better!

Have you ever heard of a "Human Library"? Well, at Dayuan Elementary School on September 24th, we learned all about it! Instead of reading books made of paper, we invited a "human book" to our school. This special guest had lots of different experiences and knowledge to share with all the teachers and students. We got to talk with them, ask questions, and share our own ideas! This made reading feel even more exciting!

Our special "human book" for the day was Reporter Chang Tsai-Feng. Reporter Tsai-Feng told us all about her adventures and experiences as a reporter. It was super interesting to hear her stories!

But that's not all! Reporter Tsai-Feng also led us in a fun seed DIY activity! It was a truly wonderful and exciting "Human Library" sharing event.

Did you know that "Food and Agriculture Education" is also a special class at our school? Reporter Tsai-Feng even wrote an article about our school's Food and Agriculture Education program! It was published in the Mandarin Daily News on September 21st. A big thank you to Reporter Tsai-Feng!

Everyone is like a unique book, with their own special story and different life experiences. Today's "Human Library" event made us even more excited about reading, and it made reading feel very real and close to us!

Guess what? There's a brand new, super cool room at Dayuan Elementary School! It used to be an old, dark, and messy storage room, full of stuff. But not anymore!

Now, this room is totally different! It has been made over into an amazing place that's perfect for dance classes, physical education, and small group activities.

The floor is shiny and bright, and the room feels big and open. There are also lots of new things inside to help everyone learn and exercise happily. Every corner of the room feels lively and full of energy!

Now, students can dance, move, and play to their hearts' content in this wonderful new space. It's a fantastic new spot for learning and having fun!

What's one thing students sometimes don't like? Old, dirty bathrooms! But guess what? That's not a problem anymore at Dayuan Elementary School!

During the 2024 school year, something amazing happened! The bathrooms on the first and second floors of our front school building got a super big makeover!

Now, these bathrooms are totally different. They are super clean, very comfortable, and really bright! No more dark, old-looking places.

Now, all the students can feel safe and happy when they need to use the restroom. We won't hear anyone saying they're scared to go to the bathroom anymore!

It's a big improvement that makes our school even better for everyone. Hooray for our new, sparkling clean bathrooms!
